Convert the WordPress.com site to a Hashnode blog.

If you are using the free WordPress.com plan to quickly start hosting your blog, like me, you wish you had not.
Well, the free plan is just restricted, and they do not offer anything good. Yes, there are a lot of free offerings available, and one of them is Hashnode's free plan.

Well, it is not possible to use WordPress.com to escape the site. Now the only thing you can do is export from and make a duplicate copy in your local environment, and then convert it to hashnode. Well, it sounds like a lot of work, but if you follow this tutorial, it really is not. So let's get started.

Pre-Requisites

  • Laragon Installed and configured

  • Local WordPress installation

  • wordpress.com account export.

  • Hashnode Blog

Let's start by exporting a WordPress blog from wordpress.com. Go to your account and then your site. You can see the "Tools" menu and then export. Now, when you click export, this will send your exported site to your email address. Export both media and posts from this option.

Now come to your local WordPress installation and go to "Tool" > "Import" and import the files. Now you have a duplicate of your WordPress blog, which you can now convert.

Now follow this tutorial on how you can convert this locally hosted WordPress site to a Hashnode site. It is pretty simple and also has a video tutorial you can follow.
